E-Commerce Platforms
McJunkin has invested heavily in E-Commerce and Internet based material management systems. Our philosophy is to focus on E-Commerce solutions adopted by our alliance customers while remaining involved in other relevant and innovative aspects of E-Commerce.
McJunkin currently utilizes the following E-Commerce applications:
McJunkin’s Electronic Catalog
McJunkin has implemented a web based electronic catalog and ordering system which gives our customers access to over 102,000 items that can be purchased over the Internet. McJunkin’s web enabled Electronic Catalog provides part number look-up capability, inventory stocking levels at the McJunkin stocking locations, access to supplier catalogs for material specifications, and requisition order entry. When a customer creates a requisition on McJunkin’s Electronic Catalog, the requisition is interfaced automatically to our on-line ordering system for sourcing, picking and shipping. The electronic catalog interfaces include customer pricing and inventory stock levels.
Catalog Data
McJunkin has invested a substantial amount of resources in developing catalog data. We have rationalized roughly 102,000 of McJunkin’s descriptions and continue to standardize item descriptions and add noun, modifier, and attribute data. McJunkin provides customers with our catalog data directly and through the use of several content companies.

XML
McJunkin has implemented XML integration with many of our alliance customers either directly or through various customer selected market places. These customers are sending purchase orders and change orders in XML format. We are returning order acknowledgements, advance ship notices, and invoices in XML format. We support many XML formats and communication methods.
EDI
McJunkin is an industry leader in the use of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and supports virtually all standard transaction sets.
A substantial portion of McJunkin’s transactions with customers and suppliers are processed using EDI. McJunkin processed over 1 million EDI transactions in 2006. ANSI X12 standards are used in all EDI processing and McJunkin currently supports versions 2000 through 4030. The following EDI data sets are supported:

Ariba
McJunkin has an ongoing relationship with Ariba on behalf of many strategic alliance customers. McJunkin has provided Ariba with rationalized data to support our customer’s use of Ariba. In addition, McJunkin has developed ‘Punch-Out’ capability so that Ariba users punch-out of the Ariba application directly into McJunkin’s electronic catalog. We have many customers using Punch-Out. We also have customers who chose to host McJunkin catalog data. We are integrated with the Ariba Supplier Network so that orders received through the 'ASN' go directly into our ERP system.
