Investment Recovery
McJunkin’s Investment Recovery Process helps our customers unlock the cash tied up in the operations of their business and allows them to deliver higher returns to their shareholders. As a distributor, McJunkin is well suited to help you accomplish your investment recovery goals.
McJunkin has a dedicated Investment Recovery expert with over 30 years of industry experience. In addition to being a Certified Manager of Investment Recovery (CMIR) and a Six Sigma Black Belt, he is actively involved in the Investment Recovery Association.
Through our Forecasting System, McJunkin analyzes items monthly at a branch level based on demand. Items with at least eight (8) straight months with no demand are labeled “D” or “dead items”. If these same items continue as “dead items” for at least twelve (12) straight months, they are labeled “E” items. If an E item has no on-hand, allocated, reserved or on-order quantities, it becomes subject for deletion from the branch.
McJunkin’s dynamic ordering system allows buyers to review branch location of “dead” inventory at any of our 100+ locations giving them the option of transferring material versus ordering additional items when cost effective.
If an “E” item does have physical inventory McJunkin’s inventory recovery process is initiated.
McJunkin’s position as a buyer and seller of many products allows our dedicated investment recovery staff to leverage the entire spectrum of the market to maximize the return received by our clients.
Our processes include but are not limited to:
- Material review and analysis – both physical and electronic
- Material grading and segregation
- Negotiations with suppliers and manufacturers
- Coordination of credits received directly by clients
- Web-based material sales
- Warehouse overstock and surplus yards
