Mid-size Chemical Processing Facility
Developed a plan to implement SAP’s consignment module. Through this change, the customer was able to reduce their MRO inventory by over $500,000 by shifting the material to consignment agreements with their MRO suppliers. Additionally, average number of monthly purchase orders (PO’s) was reduced by over 300, a more than 10% reduction in total PO volume!
Large Petroleum Refinery
Studied replenishment procedure for satellite storage locations and identified several duplicate processes and double handling of material. Designed solution using bar-code technology that improved material tracking. This reduced the volume of main storeroom transactions by over 70%. Simultaneously the service levels at the satellite locations improved significantly.
Small Petrochemical Operation
Customer was experiencing unusually high volume of buyouts due to poor catalog search capabilities. Our team helped develop simple search tools and processes to enhance the users ability to locate proper catalog part numbers. The result was a greater than 25% increase in catalog utilization and lower material costs as procurement was now directed through contract suppliers and proper channels.
